Constitution for Prince Edward Island
Enshrined in the Constitution of Prince Edward Island are the principles in which elected officials of this province are to fulfill state duties on behalf of the people. Ultimately, each resident of this island is a Master of Government to who elected officials are responsible to. Under The Constitution of Prince Edward Island, every elected official must abide by the final, fully informed decision of the populace in regard to the absolute right of transparency and accountability granted to the people. In this age, the people of this province are forever privy to all information, affairs and decisions of Our government as protected by The Constitution of Prince Edward Island.
Article 1 Henceforth, The Legislature of Prince Edward Island shall consist of 1 7** democratically elected officials to represent all residents of this province, without discrimination to any individual. All provincially elected officials shall be limited to two-consecutive terms.
Article 2 Henceforth, the Cabinet of Prince Edward Island shall consist of 5 officials democratically elected to the legislature by the citizens of this province. The transparency and accountability of the Executive Council shall be the legal responsibility of the Premier as appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor of Prince Edward Island. Deputy Ministers under the heading of a department cannot exceed 3.
Article 3 Henceforth, the highest crime of any democratically elected official is the abuse of Crown funds or assets, or the intentional deception of voters. Therefore, residents of Prince Edward Island have the right to recall; an individually elected official, the appointed Premier, a government, or legislation deemed unbecoming. The Premier, being legally responsible for the Executive affairs of the province, may be recalled by the people in the event: ** An individual official maybe recalled by the people in the event: ** A government may be recalled by the people in the event: ** Legislative acts may be recalled by the people in the event: **
Article 4 Henceforth, the residents of Prince Edward Island have the right to hold a referendum outside of the legislative process, yet legally binding and must be recognized by the sitting government as such.
Article 5 Henceforth, the people of Prince Edward Island have a right to the full knowledge and accountability of the elected officials, public funds and government institutions supported by public funds. This shall include all financial transactions, official communiques, minutes of government committees and all positions paid by public funds, nonetheless protecting the privacy of all private citizens in those roles.
Article 6 Henceforth, the personal privacy of all Prince Edward Island residents shall be granted unconditional protection. Government will not implement wholesale surveillance by any means on residents other than those used for specifically named individuals suspect of criminal activities for which a legal warrant must be obtained. Nor shall the Government of Prince Edward Island coordinate with national, international or private institutions for the illegal surveillance of an individual within provincial boundaries.
Article 7 Henceforth, any individual resident of Prince Edward Island, whether a private citizen or public official, who brings forth evidence of corruption or unconstitutional activities within or related to government shall be granted special protection for the cause of upholding due digilence amongst the population.
Article 8 Henceforth, all residents of Prince Edward Island hold the right to own private property. If property, or agriculture and forestry products wherein are deemed restricted or required for the sake of the common good then private residents will be fairly compensated through a standardized process.
Article 9 Henceforth, with the adoption of this constitution, any amendment can only be made with the support of the majority of Prince Edward Islanders. This shall consist of ** % of each district being in agreement.
